[[1Jn 4:18]] KJV There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Love is one of the overused words in the English language. Many use their experiences and emotions to try to define love. In this twisted generation, sex has replaced love. Again, there’s a lot of anxiety that surrounds people’s experience of love. Infidelity and insecurity makes people mix love with fear.

Countless are afraid to love because of past experiences. Others fall in love and in fear at the same time because they don’t know what to expect. But God’s word shows us in the above that perfect love cast away fear. Real love has no anxieties nor insecurity. True love is void of fear.

If you claim to be in love, and fear still fill your heart, that love is not perfected. The reason for the fear and anxiety is because people mistake feelings and emotionalism for love. In fact, that’s all the movies portray. LOVE IS NOT AN EMOTION OR A FEELING: LOVE IS A DECISION.

You don’t love because of what you feel. You love because you decide to. And God’s word must be the basis for your decision. Love must not be a tool you use to get something. You make up your mind to love, and when you do, all anxieties disappear because you’re not afraid of being hurt. Bitterness and hatred will also leaves your heart because you decided to love, and you’re not expecting anything back. Glory to God!

Father I thank you for enlightening me to walk in love. I live free from fear, and I walk in love with boldness. I choose to love, living void of hurts, hatred, bitterness or fear in Jesus’ name.
