[[Col 3:23]] KJV And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
There are three very important things to know in the above. The first is the phrase “Whatsoever ye do.” Here Paul shows us that everything we do is service to God. Many times, we think that serving God is just about doing something in church. Serving is much more than that. Whatsoever we do must serve him.
The next thing is that your service must be done whole heartedly. Your heart must be fully involved in what you do for God and others. God rewards what’s in our heart and not necessarily what in our hands. The reason is because your hand can be on the job while your heart is far from it.
When you have the opportunity to work for God or others, your heart must be buried in it. This is the way to access God’s blessings in whatever you do. David for example didn’t have the opportunity to build God a house, but because it was in his heart, God congratulated him
*(1Ch 28:2). Solomon recalls; “And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart” *(1Ki 8:18).
God recognizes what is in our heart and honors that. Finally, whatever you do must be done as unto the Lord. Even if you are working for a person that may be terrible to you, do your service as unto the Lord. Everything you do is a seed. One day, you’ll reap in greater measures. Glory to God!
