[[Rev 12:11]] KJV And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
According to the book of Revelation, when there was war in heaven, Satan and his cohorts fought back *(Rev 12:7). But they were overpowered by two elements: THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB and THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY. These two are the more powerful weapon against the devil.
It’s important however, that we clarify here that ‘The blood of the Lamb’ as used in our opening text does not specifically refer to the blood of Jesus as widely believed among many Christians. The phrase ‘Blood of the Lamb’ is allegorical denoting the substitutional death of Jesus for the redemption of the sins of the world by shedding His blood *(Rom 3:25).
Through the death of Christ, the power and grip of Satan is broken off our lives. We are delivered from the kingdom of darkness and translated into God’s kingdom of light *(Col 1:13). But living in a falling world controlled by satanic systems, we must constantly entrench our victory. This is where the second weapon becomes crucial: THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY.
‘Testimony’ here, from the Greek, “marturia” actually denotes the office committed to the prophet to testify concerning future events. You overpower the devil when like a prophet, you begin to speak forth things into being in your life with boldness and in faith. Your greatest weapon against all satanic onslaughts is your month! What you say is what you get. So put God’s word on your lips and speak them into your life. You’ll soon see God’s results working in your life. Glory!
I’m full of goodness. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. There’s no confusion in me. I’m God’s best. I live in victory everyday. Divine health is at work in me. I’m a success. Glory to God!
