[[Pro 6:2]] KVJ Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Your words can trap your life. That is the sum of what the writer seeks to communicate to us by the Spirit in the above. There is a kingdom language for the Christian. Your tongue controls your life. James likened the tongue to the rudder of a great ship, which the captain uses to direct the ship wherever he wants (James 3:4-5). Likewise, your tongue navigates the path of your destiny whether or not you know it.
In Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus said “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Literally, this means a man will go to heaven or hell because of what he said or didn’t say! Paul also reveals that salvation is the result of what we confess with out mouth (Rom 10:8-10).
Your life assumes the character of your words. If a your words are confusing, your life will be confusing as well. In the same vein, if your words are wholesome, your life will be wholesome: perfect, excellent, and inspiring! Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life….” Jesus also declared the we shall have whatsoever we say (Mark 11:23).
Watch what you say. Your confessions control your future. The kind of life you’ll have will be determined by what you are saying or not saying right now. Proverbs 12:18 says, “… but the tongue of the wise is health.” You can keep yourself in health, safety, prosperity, and victory with your words. Talk faith, success, and increase! Hear what Peter has to say on this matter:
1 Peter 3:10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.
Dear Father, thank you for teaching me about the power of my words. Through your Word, and by your Spirit, I’m training my tongue to speak only faithfilled words! I speak only life-giving words that are proportional with your will for my life, and I declare that my future is secured in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
